Age and Gender Interactions

The graph illustrates prevalence of alcohol use, binge drinking, and heavy drinking in men and women. The horizontal line has four bar graphs and represent males 18-25; females 18-25; males 26 and older and women 26 and older. The vertical axis is 0 to 70 percent. The following are visual approximations: In the male 18-25 category, 20% report heavy drinking; 29% report binge drinking; and 16% report any use of alcoholic beverages. In the female 18-25 category, 7% report heavy drinking; 20% report binge drinking; and 24% report any alcohol use. In the male 26 and older category, 8% report heavy drinking; 18% report binge drinking; and 32% report any use of alcohol. In the female 26 and older category 2% report heavy drinking; 10% report binge drinking and 30% report any alcohol use.
